Happy Halloween!

We had the best Halloween! My mom and dad came over to pass out candy while Chuck and I took Carter and Laney Trick-or-Treating in the neighborhood. We thought that it wasn't going to turn out because it had been raining on and off all day. Around 6:00 it cleared up and we were able to go up and down our street.
Carter got tired of walking and we ended up putting Laney in a stroller. We had a great time and Laney fell asleep on the way back. We came back home aroun 7:00. I think Carter's favorite part was passing out candy to the other kids. We passed out around 600 pieces of candy. We probably had about 200 Trick-or-Treaters. It was a great Halloween!

The Annual Stew

Brady on the slide.

Sweet Laney sitting at the table while we ate more stew. Look at those little teeth!

Soft drinks at 9 pm - fun times!

Yes...that is the 40 lbs. of stew in that pot!

Sweet Laney all bundled up, she wouldn't do the gloves.

Every year, Karrie's parents and Me-Maw cook a big stew in the Fall. We have been going for several years now and look forward to the stew every year. Jimmy and Donna, Karrie's parents, start the stew early Saturday morning. Some people help to stir throughout the day. Then around 4:00 the stew is ready. We go to Me-Maw's and eat until we cannot eat anymore. Chuck holds the record for 11 bowls of stew in one night. Later in the evening, we build a fire and roast hotdogs, marshmallows and smores. The kids have a big yard to play in and have the best time of their lives. They usually just fall asleep in our laps around the fire.

Laney's Birthday

On Laney's Birthday, Chuck, Carter and myself took the day off from work and school to spend the day with Laney. We slept in and went to the park. They had a wonderful time and it was a beautiful day.
I missed Laney's 1 year appt. because we all had the H1N1. I got it first and then passed it on to Laney. So, we had to reschedule our Dr.'s appt. We had to see someone different than our regular Dr., Dr. Davis. She was very nice but is concerned about Laney's weight. Dr. Davis has seen Laney and Carter since birth and knows that they are just not big babies. However when Laney had the flu, she dropped a couple pounds and went from the 10th % to the 5% in weight. We have to go back in November for a weight check. She also said she needs to drink lots more milk and eat, eat, eat fattening foods. We will see how this goes over since Chuck and I are always on a diet.
Laney weighed 17.6 lbs. and was 28 1/4 inches long (25%). She is such a little sweetie. She is not really saying a lot of words. She is very loving and loves to hug her dolls and bears. She is walking very well and does not like to sit still for very long at all.

Happy Birthday Laney!

Chuck helping Laney. He tried to take her sucker so she could open presents. She was not going to give him the sucker!

Laney's new favorite food...cheese sticks.

Love some Chick-Fil-A nuggets.
The party favors.
Laney's cake and the cake for everyone else
We had Laney's birthday party yesterday. It was so wonderful. She had tons of guests and enjoyed herself so much!
We had chicken nuggets, cheese sticks (Laney's new favorite food) and chips with dip. Teresa Harrill, that teaches with me made her cakes. They were adorable. When Laney started to eat her cake, she picked up the whole plate and mashed her face into it to eat. She ate a little bit and then she was done. We had made suckers that looked like flowers and she wanted to get back to her sucker she had started before cake. We also had pink M&M's for a party favor.
It did rain but we had everything inside and the kids all enjoyed themselves.
I had wanted a cute dress off of Etsy.com, my favorite site. I just could not bring myself to pay so much for a dress that she would only wear one time. So, my mom made her dress and Lee's uptown made the applique. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.
She got tons of pink, girlie presents. She really needed them. Our house seems to be full of boy stuff. She also got lots of cute clothes for the fall and winter.
We have enjoyed every minute of everyday during the past year. She has been such a blessing. Carter loved having her birthday party and did very well with letting her have the spotlight. He is such a great big brother. We could not be more blessed!

Laney's Birthday Invitation

Here is Laney's birthday invitation. A store on Etsy, my new favorite site, created it and e-mailed it to me. All I have to do is print it out at Wal-Mart. It is so convenient.
Laney is walking most of the time now. She has three teeth and is working on her fourth one.

The Princess...

We went out on the lake with Nonna and Papa (Karrie's parents) last weekend. Laney loved being in the water.

Wind face...

We took Laney outside to take her pictures for her birthday invitations. We dressed her in a tutu and a tiara. When Carter saw that she was dressed up, he wanted to get dressed up too. I wanted to share pictures and her invitation.
Carter is doing great in school. He loves kindergarten, thanks to Mrs. Burgess and Mrs. Farris! We are so excited that he is enjoying it so much.
