The Family

Dalton and Carter look a lot alike. I think it is the blonde hair.
Kelsey loves to take pictures of herself - all the time.

My niece and nephews spent last weekend with us and we tried to get a few pictures of them. They are all great with Laney and Carter loves for them to come over.

Happy Black Friday!

Laney is 2 months old today. She has really grown a lot! Laney is very spoiled and cries anytime she is not being held. My mom came over this morning while Chuck and I went out to catch some sells. We did get a few gifts for Santa. We have taken some pictures over the past couple weeks that I wanted to share. The pictures in the "Ho, Ho, Ho" shirt are from today - when she is 2 months.

Happy Thanksgiving!

On Thursday, we drove down to spend Thanksgiving with Chuck's family. We always go out to eat there - it is very nice not to have to cook or clean up. Then on Friday, we went to have lunch with my family. We had a great Thanksgiving except for the traveling part - Laney cries the whole time she is in her car seat.

Carter loves to hold Laney...

Here are a few pics of Carter holding Laney. The picture where she is crying is not very cute but I think it is funny because Carter always wants to hug, kiss and hold her. I would cry too if someone were always in my face.

We Love Fall

Chuck's favorite season is fall and Carter's favorite season is "Christmas" he says. We have been enjoying the great weather. We really need to take some pictures of the kids in the leaves. We have a leaf problem - they are every where.
Last weekend we went to a stew at Karrie's Me-Maw's. We go every year. Jimmy, Karrie's dad, and other men cook the stew all day over coals. We build a bon fire and eat the stew, cornbread, and tons of pies. Then later in the night, we roast weenies, marshmallows and make smores. I really hate I forgot to take pictures because Carter had the time of his life. We took his Gator and he and Ian rode all over the place. Karrie had gotten him a Batman toboggan and gloves. He looked adorable. We had a great time.
This weekend we took Carter bowling again. He really loves to bowl and he is pretty good at it. Then Papa Harold came down to visit. And...of course, we are watching Sunday football!

I Love Baby Feet!

I have not been so good at updating. I knew that either I wouldn't have time to update or I would do what I did last weekend and forget to take pictures. We have thousands of pictures of Carter and very rarely remember to take pictures now. After the kids both finished baths on Thursday, I just sat and looked at their sweet feet. I wanted to take a picture of Laney and Carter's feet together so that we could see how big Carter really is. They were both wonderful for the pictures but their feet just would not stay still. There are still really sweet pics.

Happy Halloween!

Chuck had to work on Halloween so my mom and dad came over to help out. We took Carter to the spook parade in Cherryville during the morning. He got tons of candy. That night, I took him around the neighborhood. The whole time, he was begging to go back home and hand out the candy. Dad took care of Laney while we were gone and mom handed out candy. We had a ton of trick-or-treaters and Carter loved it. We had a great night!

Where has the month gone?

Gosh - Laney is already 1 month old. The time has just flown by. She turned one month on October 28th. We are still enjoying every minute. She is very spoiled already - she loves to be held. Of course, I love holding her!

Cute Pics

Jason and Karrie got Laney some very cute dresses. They have been teasing Chuck about their sons (Ian and Brady) dating Laney one of these days. Chuck gets very upset when they tease him - he thinks she will never date! This is one of the cute dresses they got her and "Brady/Jason" say it is their favorite.

One Week Old

Laney was such an angel during the first week. She hardly ever cries - she just grunts when she is hungry and that is about it. We had a wonderful first week and Carter has done so well with her.

Home at Last...

We were actually only in the hospital for 1 day but it seemed like an eternity. It is like you never really get to sleep and nursing is so hard there. They let me leave the hospital on Monday so we came home. Chuck took the first week off.

Our Wonderful Friends!

We had decided a while back that we were not going to find out whether the baby was a boy or girl. I wanted someone to know what the baby was. We asked our friends Jason and Karrie Clark to find out what it was and keep it a secret. We gave them some money (not nearly enough) to buy the first few weeks of clothes. The day of our ultrasound, we had the tech put the picture into an envelope and mail it to them. They were so good. I was convinced that it was a boy. It made the delivery so much more exciting. Jason and Karrie had gotten so many things for Laney - she is set for a while. It was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed the surprise!

In the hospital

When my mom first woke up Carter and told him it was a girl, he said, "I don't want to go see her - I wanted a brother" and he fell back asleep. When he got to the hospital, he started to change his mind - he wanted to keep her. He grows to love her more and more every day. People always ask if they can have Laney and Carter gets really defensive. He is wonderful with her.

Laney Reese Spangler

Well...It has been a long time since I have posted anything on the blog. I have been trying to make mine really pretty and creative and I just haven't figured out how yet. I will keep working. We have since had a sweet baby girl. Laney was born on September 28th at 6:14 a.m. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. She is absolutely perfect. I will post pictures of her during the first few weeks.
