Laney's Birthday and Fall 2010

On Saturday, September 25th, we had a small birthday party for Laney.  It is hard to believe that she is already two!  We had family and close friends over for pizza and cake.  She and Carter both love ICarly so we had her an ICarly birthday party.  She had a great time.  I have tons of pictures of her during the party but very few of Carter because he was playing with his friend Ian in the playroom the whole time.  Laney got a bunch of toys and clothes.  She had a fantastic birthday!
It is starting to cool down here.  So, we went to Maple Springs Pumpkin Patch yesterday.  The kids picked a pumpkin and we took some pictures.  Laney has made her pumpkin into a princess and Carter made his into a pirate.  They are super cute.  To bad we can't put them outside because the dog will eat them.
Both of my kids love ranch.  Carter loves ranch dressing on his vegetables and salad.   However, Laney loves ranch any way she can get it.  Any time we get ranch dressing, she eats it with a spoon.  I had to get a couple pictures of her eating it and loving every bite.
Carter is doing well in first grade.  He has made all 100's (except for one 80)on his test so far this year.  He is reading up a storm.  He brought home a chapter book the other night.  Although it took us 3 nights to read, he still made a 100 of the test.  His favorite part of the day is recess - typical boy! :)

Hilton Head 2010

Wow, it has been so long since I have updated our blog.  It seems like there is not enough time in the day sometimes.
We went to Hilton Head July 22 - 31.  We went with the Clark family and the Hoyle family again.  As always, we had a wonderful time.  The first day we went to Savannah.  It was okay but just not as wonderful as I had heard.  The second day, we took the kids on a pirate cruise from Pirates of Hilton Head.  They had to use a map to find clues.  The clues led them to Stinky Pete.  When they found Stinky Pete, they had to spray him with water until he surrendered the key to the treasure chest.  All of the kids enjoyed this.
The rest of the days were spent at the pool and the beach during the day.  Then we went to kids shows a couple different nights.  We went to see Shannon Tanner and Greg Russell sing.  We also let the kids make shirts at the Salty Dog.

Spring

Our new swingset

Laney was exhausted after playing all day and fell asleep in her high chair.

Let's Go Duke!

I am so happy that it is finally spring and it is warm outside. The kids love to play outside in the afternoon and it has been so cold this winter that they haven't really been able to play too much.
We are very excited that Duke won the NCAA Championship - the kids are big Duke fans too. I have some pictures of them in their Duke attire. Carter says he is going to play basketball for Duke and then football for the Panthers when he grows up.
We had a wonderful Easter! My family came over for lunch. It was terrific to have Easter at our house because my dad and brother were here to help put the swingset together, that the kids got for Easter. They also got some candy and of course Carter got the "Bat Copter" he has wanted his whole life. He said that the Easter Bunny was so good to him that he felt like he must be dreaming.
